American actor and rapper Earl Simmons was born December 18 in 1970. He died April 9, 2021. His debut album It's Dark and Hot was released in 1998 to great critical and commercial success. The album sold more than 251,000 copies in its first week. The best-selling album of DMX,... and Then There Was X, was released in 1999. The album also featured the smash single "Party Up (Up in Here). His singles from 2003 "Where is the Hood At?" and "X Gon' Give It To Ya" are also commercially successful. He was the first artist in history to have an album debut at No.1 on the Billboard 200 charts five times consecutively. 7. DMX has sold more than 74 million records across the globe. In 1988, when he was in prison for carjacking he started dedicating a large portion of his spare time creating lyrics, and also to having a rap session with K-Solo. He began selling mixtapes that were produced and sold following being released from prison for carjacking. The mixtapes helped him establish a fan base in New York. DMX appeared on The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show in 1991, along with Percee P who they both freestyled. In 1994, he released "Make A Move" the second single from his debut album. He performed together with Jay-Z, Ja Rule, and Mic Geronimo, on the legendary underground song "Time to build" on Mic Geronimo's debut album 1995.DMX died on April 9 2021 after suffering an induced heart attack by cocaine.
