
Allison Brooks Janney was born November 19, 1959. 2] She is an American actor. Her appearances on screen and on stage were a highlight of her career that spanned over three decades. Janney received numerous accolades including the Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. She also won seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney was also nominated for the two Tony Awards. Born in Boston and was raised in Dayton, Ohio, Janney got a scholarship for studying at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art following having graduated from Kenyon College. Janney has been credited with several small and rarely-seen film and TV appearances over the years. Her most famous performance as C. J. Cregg in NBC's The West Wing (1999-2006) brought her five Primetime Emmy Awards. In 2014, she received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding guest actor in an Drama Series in the role of Margaret Scully on the Showtime period drama Masters of Sex. Her most well-known role was her portrayal Bonnie Plunkett.
